If I Only Had Time-

I Would learn about beekeeping!

Honey bees, make and do things that are helpful to humans. They are very interesting insects. Honey bees provide us with honey, royal jelly, beeswax and propolis. They are very cooperative insects and have good colony structure. They are the prome pollinators of the planet. Honey bees are social insects. A typical hive is divided into worker bees and drones, ruled by the queen.

Famous beekeepers include:

Ben Franklin a patron for Thomas Wildman's 1768 Treatise on the Management of Bees.

Brigham Young a famous American Beekeeper...his interest in bees led to Utah being called the "Beehive State" and having skep hives as emblems.

Leo Tolstoy the Russian author and beekeeper, mentions beekeeping twice in his book, "War and Peace"

Martha Steward, model, stockbroker, avid gardener and beekeeper says "keeping bees is a good thing."

Henry Fonda, star of 96 films, this hobby beekeeper gave away honey in jars that he labeled "Henry's Honey". When he was a youngster, he earned the Eagle Scout's merit badge for beekeeping.

Sheila has a bit of darkness in her humor. But it makes me giggle.

Oh and Hagaan-Daz wants us to save the honeybee. Check out the bottom of the lid next time it's on sale.

I've had honey from Avacado blossums, it had a hint of spice to it. Isn't it amazing how the pollen effects the flavor of the honey?
