Mushroom Provolone Patty Melts

Ok, these are NOT so healthy or fat- free, but they were delicious!
Way better than the fast food burgers.
Add, quick roasted potatoe wedges and you got a tasty meal.
I would say some greens would be nice too. (kale, collards, chard)

1 pound ground sirloin
Cooking spray
1 Tbl olive oil
1/4 cup thinly sliced yellow onions
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1 package sliced cremini mushrooms
1 1/2 teaspoons all-purpose flour
1/4 cup dark beer (Porter is good) or Beef Broth.
8 slices rye bread
4 slices provolone cheese

1. Heat a larg nonstick skillet over medium- high heat. Shape beef into 4 patties. Coat pan with cooking spray. Add patties; cook 4 minutes on each side or until done.
2. Heat oil in medium skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion, salt, pepper, and mushrooms; saute' 3 minutes. Sprinkle flour over mushroom mixture; cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Stir in beer or beef broth; cook 30 seconds or until thick. Remove from heat; keep warm.
3. When patties are done, remove from large skillet. Wipe pan clean; heat over medium-high heat. Coat 1 side of each bread slice with cooking oil. (I used butter) Place 4 bread slices, coated sides down, in pan. Top each with 1 patty, 1 cheese slice and one-fourth of mushroom mixture. Top with remaining brad slices; coat with cooking spray. Cook 2 minutes on each side or until browned.

For Quick-Roasted Potato Wedges:
Preheat oven to 425. Cut 1 pound small red potatoes into wedges; toss with 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Arrange on a baking sheet.
Bake for 425 for 25 minutes or until tender stirring once. Toss with 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley.

Sunsets

Sunsets in winter can be breathtaking.

I try to show appreciation for them often
but many times it is dark before I head home from work.

Such beauty.
And these are just mere pictures!

What a gift for our eyes and the artistic part of our brain.
And for everyone, free of charge!
Who will you thank for this grand display?

Chinese symbol for Ship (or large boat)

I find it interesting that the Chinese character for "ship" is derived from the idea of "eight persons in a vessel." This bears a strong resemblance to the Bible account about Noah and his family, eight persons, who survived the Flood in an ark. (1 Peter 3:20)

The fact that the Flood really occurred is verified by a number of Bible writers.
(Isaiah 54:9; 2 Peter 3:5, 6; Hebrews 11:7)

The strongest evidence is the testimony of Jesus Christ, who was an eyewitness in the heavens.
(Compare John 8:58)

Jesus said, "In the days of Noah...the flood arrived and destroyed them all." -Luke 17:26, 27.

This account of the Flood is more than a story. Jesus Christ showed that it  has prophetic significance. In his prophecy about "the conclusion of the system of things," he made specific reference to "the days of Noah." He pointed to the Flood as a warning example of a greater destruction to come during "the presence of the Son of man." Matthew 24:3, 37-39.

What does that mean for us, living in the time of the end, "the last days"?
What does the near future hold?

Many different predictions abound. However, we have access to the most reliable source. Yes, God's Word.  The Bible talks about a great tribulation, Armeggedon and then what?

"After these things I saw, and look! a great crowd, which no man was able to number, out of all nations and tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes; and there were palm branches in their hands. And they keep crying with a loud voice, saying: 'Salvation we owe to our God, who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb." -Revelation 7:9, 10

The question is: "These who are dressed in white robes, who are they and where did they come from?... These are the ones that come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb." -Revelation 7:13, 14

What is in store for this people? Turn to your Bible and read the answer at Revelation 7:16,17 and if that sounds too good to be true compare Revelation 21:3-5

Yes, this great crowd standing before the throne of God, gives all credit and glory, not to any man made organization, but only to the Sovereign of the entire universe, Jehovah God, and to his Son, Christ Jesus. (Isaiah 66:1a; Proverbs 2:21, 22)

Will we be able to stand firm for God's Kingdom as the end of this ungodly world ends?
Yes, if we follow Jesus example, recognizing the heavenly Messianic kingdom arrangement, already set up for our good. And obeying all of Jesus commands. (Matthew 4:23; 28:19, 20)
